Oh my heck its been a week! I cant believe it. It really has
flown by so fast. They say that in the mtc days feel like weeks but weeks feel
like days and they really weren't wrong! I feel like I just got here yesterday
but here I am annoying the heck out of the new greenies this week by welcoming
them non stop its great (I swear its an mtc thing i'm not that annoying).
Any who I don't even know where to start... I got put in a trio with the literal two
most amazing sisters in the world Sister Martin and Sister Johnson. And then in
my district we have two elders from Cali- elders Tonga'ofa and Fanua both born
in Tonga, and there is Elder Moore from Utah, and then there are two other
sisters, Sister Wong and Sister Low from American Fork Utah. And let me tell you
we are the squad 12/10. We call ourselves Team No Visa. Since we were all told
at the very last minute that none of our visas came so we had to go to Provo
and they hurry and threw us all into a tiny district with no working keys, a
dirty room, and no branch presidency because they didn't even know we were here. Honestly I think its hilarious. But its so sad tho because the elders
are going to Papua, New Guinea, Ghana Africa and Auckland so none of us will
really see each other. But I'm not crying. its fine.... .... BUT OKAY AWKWARD my
zone leader is this obnoxious chump that I ghosted on mutual so that's kinda
awkward. Oops. He hates me. Its cool.
But real talk tho oh my gosh I love being a
missionary. Literally I feel like a completely different person than I was a week
ago. This gospel has changed my life. We spend four hours everyday studying the
scriptures two hours of personal study and then two hours of companion study. Its awesome- I feel like I have been missing out on so much. Also my teachers
are sister Larson who is the literal real life version of Rapunzel. I love her
and there is brother Dube who is the son of a General Authority and he's from
Zimbabwe and his dad has been a General Authority for like forever. So when brother Dube was younger he was like just trying to irritate his dad and was like, "Ya, I'm
not going to serve a mission" just to spite him. He was actually planning on
serving he was just obnoxious. So then he tells us that literally an hour
after he told his dad that he didn't want to serve he got a call from Elder Holland (since his dad is tight with all the apostles) yelling at him
telling him the importance of missionary service.... RIGHT. He was like "That
was the most embarrassing moment of my life, also my dads a jerk he cant pull
that crap on me". Anyway I just liked that story I thought I'd share. But
actually tho, I love brother Dube he's amazing. We are all convinced he is going
to be a General Authority as well one day. But this week has been amazing
and I miss you all thanks for the love and support :)
To quote Elder Bednar,"Christ never once in his life
ever thought about himself. As he hung on the cross he was ministering to the
men hanging on the other two crosses. So get over your selves and get to work. Step up missionaries and stop turning inward." I just love Bednar. Isn't he
great :) Any who its been real. Also I can read any emails you send at anytime I just cant respond until Tuesdays so keep them coming. I love you all and will
be praying for you. Talk to y'all next week.
